Well, the Travelzoo has enlisted the top 10 ski destinations in North America, based on the survey of more than 6,500 subscribers. The voting was conducted on the personal experience of visitors. Famous Lake Tahoe, Calif was clinched the top position as 30% of subscribers voted it. Travelzoo editors also ranked Northern California location for both skiers and non-skiers. You’ve been there before? Well this time you’re in for a surprise. The Northstar resort is in the middle of perhaps the largest expansion and makeover of any ski resort in the country. The base village has grown. Resort and East West Partners are gearing up to open Phase Two this winter which will bring in a fresh batch of luxurious condos, shops and restaurants to complement Northstarâ„¢ Resort’s unparalleled on-mountain experience. The centerpiece of the village is a large ice-skating rink. Also on the drawing board: an additional 1,000 acres of ski terrain that would be added to Northstar’s existing 2,480 acres of mostly mild ski runs. Bob Roberts, executive director of the California Ski Industry Association says: When this development is completed, Northstar is going to be another diamond in the Tahoe tiara. The range of activities it offers is extensive: Exploring the resort, Terrain parks, Ski and snowboarding schools, ice skating, cross countryski, snoeshoe centre, it also has a Snowell Center The center is equipped with robotic tuning equipment to give your skis or board that little extra something.
