Imagine losing your dog team and being frozen with a film of frost on your face in the middle of Bering strait. If that’s not enough then go and loose your camel in the gobi desert or be shot at in Colombia by drug dealers or loose your guides in the Amazon.
This is the life of adventure explorers . These guys don’t do it for knowledge or to make their mark .They do it Just cos they are addicted to danger! Madly in love with the thrill of accomplishment and knowledge.
This might seem unreal in a world where everything is mapped by satellite. There are no new valley’s or countries to discover. But exploration today has taken a new dimension with a greater responsibility added . As Jonny Bealby states
‘to push back the barriers of the known by revisiting distant or inhospitable places and peoples about which we have hazy or wrong ideas.’
