All you do is give it fuel by walking because the first of these amazing backpacks generates electricity and the other is easier on your joints and bones. Designed by biophysicist Larry Rome of the University of Pennsylvania they sure are the ultimate backpacks.
The two packs take benefit of a hiker’s up-and-down motion in similar ways. The first, attached to the frame with metal springs, converts kinetic energy into electrical. And you have a backpack that turns exercise into electricity. The second, with bungee cords, is specially tuned to soften the forces that max out with every step. It helps reduce the strain on the wearer’s shoulders and joints.
Where in normal backpack, a 50-pound pack is likely to exert a force of perhaps 85 pounds on a person walking, in this innovative backpack it will exert a force of only 56 pounds when walking.
Well now kids , troops, hikers no longer need fear heavy loads!
