These are cutting edge sports based hotels located in the finest extreme sports and urban destinations around the world. The first of which launched yesterday with the opening of the first Extreme Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa.

The hotels are the pet project of Al Gosling, extreme sports devotee and founder of the Extreme Sports Channel, they are to be managed by South African hotel firm Protea.

These resorts are hoping to attract the 156 million participants in extreme sports as well as extreme sports die hard fans the world over. Urban hotels in cities like Sydney, London and Rio; snow hotels for resorts such as Verbier, Val d’Isere and Courchevel and surf hotels near to the best breaks and beaches. The company is also in talks about building a hotel on a motor racing circuit.

Everyone sure is cashing in on the buzz of extreme sports.
