The best way to arrive here is by taking a flight from either Changi Airport or Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu. The road journey begins from Kota Kinabalu that is a 90km zigzag track to Kinabalu Park. The main peak of the Kinabalu requires no climbing skills and mountaineering equipments a person with a good physical health can ascend the mountain. However, other peaks require greater skill. 
The Kinabalu is one of the highest mountain on the earth but its friendly climbing makes it different from others. The weather conditions are always unpredictable here therefore appropriate dressing is always suggested.
The mountain is full of flora and fauna and you will find some wild pitcher plants and orchids. Local adventure groups organize regular trekking throughout the year and you can take their services.
