River rafting is an exciting and wonderful experience. Those looking for a more sedate rafting experience might like to try Finland’s neighbour, Sweden. In Varmland on the west coast it is possible to go timber rafting on the river Klaralven. This is a very different experience, where you build your own log raft and float peacefully downstream like Huckleberry Finn! The trip is not for adrenalin junkies, perhaps (though it can get quite hairy if you get stuck on a sandbank!), but if you’re the kind of person who enjoys teamwork and messing about on the water, there really is nothing like it.
