Sheckler first stepped onto a skateboard when he was 18 months old, after seeing his father’s Tony Alva board hanging in the garage. Sheckler started with amateur skateboarding competitions at age 7 and turned pro at 13. In his 2003 X Games debut, he won the gold medal in the street competition. He was the only skater to land every trick he tried.
Ryan Sheckler is quoted to have said:
‘I’m always training, always thinking about skateboarding.’
