The small village of Andermatt is to be developed into an ace skiing destination by the Egyptian millionaire Samih Sawiris . Over decades, the long flat valley became one of the most militarized regions in apparently neutral Switzerland. In the wake of job cuts in the army this project would be a blessing for the locals. The resort would be mainly located on the former army property flanking Andermatt, initially one hotel will be built in the village. The entire project hopes to cater to the finest with lavish leisure amenities, including a giant indoor swimming pool with an artificial beach, tennis courts and what Mr. Sawiris hopes will be the finest golf course in the Alps.
