The whole expedition completed with in 11 weeks going through mountains and deserts which is the paramount of chivalry, masochism, and stoicism. A few in the past had endeavored to undertake such a herculean task. He was so curious to go on expedition that he cannot wait to go through the formalities to extract the official permission for the purpose because he want to enjoy adventure, thrill and complacence of doing something worthwhile at the earliest possible.

Impediments no bar for the courageous

Afflictions could not block the path of the determined and the brave always opt for the path less traveled by the people. Douglas Brian decided to travel alone through the mountaineering feats and first descents of South American rivers that filled his mind with exalted fantasies and ecstasy but there was neither ample funds nor any other companion. Douglas Brian was always amazed and in awe when he read the stories of riders who take on incredible adversity and who seem to thrive on pure adventure. The more he read the more ambitious he became and it took six weeks for him to collect $3350 and the equipments costing the same amount for the purpose.

Adventure of cycling

The journey lasted over 4500 miles through some of the most beautiful and wretched countryside in the world that also include the Sahara desert, the most challenging phase of the trip. The trip began with awful note for Brian as he faced the tyre slashing and heatstroke. The arduous situations that he faced during the trip through mountains and deserts could not alter his determination and the insurmountable mission completed only because of his determination, velour and unprecedented firmness to the complete the mission.
