
Who doesn’t want to be a part of the leading competition in action sports? Yes, I’m talking about X Games which is just around the corner. Starting this Thursday 13th X Games are going to be the main attraction for extreme sport lovers. Roy Canright, a Simi Valley resident feels proud to the part of X games this year. Not as a spectator, but as a participant. He has been selected in skateboarding competition that will be held on Friday at the Home Depot Center in Carson.
Canright will be one of 10 Southern California skateboarders. Zack Krull of Calabasas, Lee Derber of Thousand Oaks, Matt Pierce of Oak Park and Justin Klegka of Agoura Hills are among the local skaters. Kristos Andrews of Santa Monica, Josh Krakover of Stevenson Ranch, Austin Squire of Pacific Palisades and Sean Bloom of Brentwood will also compete. Cory Phillips, a Thousand Oaks resident is also among the competitors.
These ten area competitors are members of the National High School Association and the California High School Skateboard Club headed by Thousand Oaks resident Jeffrey Stern. The X Games will also feature club skaters and professional skateboarders.
