Table mountain

Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain in the Western Cape province of South Africa . From the top of which one can get incredible glimpses of Cape Town and the Atlantic ocean in shifts with the floating mist cloud. This mist cloud is famous by the name of ‘table cloth.”

The Table Mountain National Park, conserved to protect the rare fynbos vegetation offers a number of trails under The Hoerikwaggo Trails. Hoerikwaggo is the native word for sea mountain or mountain in the sea .

The table mountain trail is a 3 day, 16 mile trail with a night spent at the top of the mountain. It starts at Mount Nelson Hotel situated in the north side goes up the mountain and comes down towards the south at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. The charm is that it’s a comfortable trek with trained naturalists guiding the path. With its emphasis on eco tourism Cape Town is becoming the most popular South African destination for eco tourism.
