It’s 1.25km diameter and 1600 feet depth makes it the world’s biggest open cast diamond mine. Discovered by Soviet geologists on June 13, 1955, the mine produce about 2-million carat per year. But hey, if you are planning to enter in the mine please don’t forget your heavy woolens as the mine temperature ranges from -50F to -70F.
